Director Finance

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Develops and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Ensures compliance with system/hospital/facility policies and procedures and governmental/accreditation regulations. Consults with Vice President for Finance concerning the hospital's financial affairs, development of operating policies and procedures, department needs and issues. Keeps Vice President informed of departmental activities. Closes the monthly books timely and completes the financial package for Corporate and internal team. Discuss management issues, department budgets and major purchase priorities, policies, procedures, and regulatory matters with others as necessary for effective decision-making. Makes recommendations to resolve issues- insuring the outcomes align with our AOP and strategic initiatives. Direct the maintenance of complete and systematic records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions so that control over finances may be maintained. Prepares or directs the preparation of reports for administration, regulatory agencies, third-party payers and MedStar Corporate Finance as required including but not limited to the Annual Audit, Annual Operating Budget, Annual Capital Equipment Budget, Annual Inflation Adjustment System Filing, Medicare Cost Report, Annual Filing to HSCRC, Monthly Financial & Statistical Report, and Annual Tax Returns. Prepares regularly scheduled DSS (Decision Support Services) margin update reports for Senior Leadership. Ensures statistical information and required data is kept as needed for reporting to regulatory agencies. Ensures that the Hospital CDM and patient charges are in compliance with the rates approved by the HSCRC and/or other regulatory agencies. Consults with and advises departments concerning functions and activities, work assignments, workflow, deadlines, policies, procedures, problems, grievances, interdepartmental relations. Performs Ad Hoc validation on financial and statistical information for internal and external reporting including communications for the Board of Directors, Finance Committee and Senior Leadership Teams, as well as Quarterly Report filings and special reports for the President, CFO and other executives. Works closely with Rates/Reimbursement team to compile stats, data, time studies, or other schedules as needed. Acts as our liaison with corporate team. Timely reviews, approves, and is the DFM for selected departments. This includes PO requisitions, invoices, check requests, and capital requests as needed. Provides direct oversight and coaching of staff and senior analysts. Assists with the building and retention of a high-caliber professional team, including participation in interviews for selection of candidates in key cross-functional areas where regular interaction occurs. Works with Directors/Leaders on MVRs and IPAs for accurate, detailed, and timely completion. Organizes and has responsibility for the budget process, adheres to deadlines and works with internal team to submit budget for approval Reviews, and will produce ROIs as needed for capital acquisition, new services, or business arrangements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or other related field, Master's Degree is preferred.
Experience:
Previous hospital management experience preferred. Knowledge of/experience with PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Axiom, SmartView, and cost accounting system preferred. Licensure, Certification & Registration:

Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
